How to Earn your Scuba Diving Certification
Learn about scuba diving principles and terminology (either offline or online), then learn basic scuba skills in a pool (or pool-like environment) with one of are highly trained PADI / SSI Instructor. When you're ready, make four dives in an open water environment (the ocean, a lake) with your instructor supporting you every step of the way.

The Advanced Open Water Diver course is all about advancing your skills. You'll practice navigation and buoyancy, try deep diving and make three specialty dives of your choosing (it's like a specialty sampler platter). Immediately recognize scuba diving illnesses treatable with emergency oxygen and be prepared to offer aid. There are no prerequisites or age restrictions. This course is open to everyone.
Knowing how and when to use emergency oxygen is a great skill to have and means you're ready to help others should the need arise. Becoming a PADI / SSI Emergency Oxygen Provider lets you breathe easy knowing that you can recognize scuba diving illnesses treatable with emergency oxygen, and are prepared to offer aid.
There are no prerequisites, age restrictions or water sessions required for this course - it's open to everyone. Scuba divers, snorkelers and anyone who is around divers - boat crew, lifeguards, etc. - will benefit from having this training.
You'll learn about dive injuries, different types of emergency oxygen equipment and safety considerations when using oxygen.
Then you'll practice:

About the course
In the old days, dive profiles were calculated from the surface down to a maximum depth, then back to the surface. Now, dive computers continually analyse your depth - giving you more bottom time for going shallower and allowing you to maximize your dive time. If you'd like to understand more about dive computers and learn how you can use tools like the eRDPMLTM to plan multilevel dives, then the Multilevel Diver Specialty course is for you.
If you're a PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver who is at least 12 years old, you can enroll in the Multilevel Diver course.
You'll review decompression theory as it relates to multilevel diving and dive computer models, and plan multilevel dives using the eRDPML. During the first of your two multilevel dives, you'll plan and execute a two-level dive, and on the second dive, you'll complete a three-level scuba dive.
Get credit! The first dive of this PADI Specialty Diver course may credit as an Adventure Dive toward your Advanced Open Water Diver certification - ask your instructor about eLearning credit.

The PADI / SSI Wreck Diver Specialty course is popular because it offers rewarding adventures while observing responsible wreck diving practices.

Every wreck is different. During the PADI / SSI Wreck Diver course, you’ll learn how to explore different types of wrecks by investigating their layout, history and hazards, and practice specialized wreck diving skills.
During four dives with your instructor, you’ll survey and map a wreck, practice special finning techniques and may use penetration lines.

About the course
Diving with a full face mask allows you to breathe from your nose and mouth, and provides added comfort in colder water. The mask can also be fitted with communication gear, which can be useful for various types of specialty diving.
Working divers, such as public safety divers, use full face masks because they protect the eyes and nose from contaminants in the water, provide comfort in cold water, and allow for communication. If you're interested public safety diving, scientific diving, or venturing into extremely cold-water, then learning to dive with a full face mask is definitely for you. Because full face masks allow you to breathe from your nose, they are also beneficial for those who have difficulty using standard scuba masks. Diving with a full face mask offers a different experience and that alone may be reason to give it a try.
You need to be a PADI / SSI Open Water Diver who is at least 12 years old to enroll in the Full Face Mask Diver course.
The mask can also be fitted with communication gear, which can be useful for various types of specialty diving.
There are several different types of full face masks, so you begin learning about varying mask features and components. Next, you learn techniques for preparing and diving with a full face mask as well as proper maintenance. During a confined water dive, you get comfortable using your mask and practice skills in preparation for your open water dives. In open water, during two dives, you'll demonstrate your ability to:

Properly prepare and check your mask for the dive.

Make adjustments underwater and clear water out of the mask.

Respond to simulated out-of-gas emergency situations.
Get credit! The first dive of this PADI / SSI Specialty Diver course may credit as an Adventure Dive toward your Advance Open Water Diver certification - ask your instructor about earning credit.
